Me and my best friends: President and Sister Teuscher   Aloha family a me friends, Just as I told President Teuscher, this week Harlem was poppin.  On the bus, I had a conversation with a man who told me that he makes about $10,000 a day by having these workshops teaching people 10 secrets to being successful in the business world or in other words things "not taught in college". He said since I was nice he would tell me a few tips. Basicalllyyy he talked about how you always need to be happy and always have the attitude to help others out. He gave me his card. Moments before we had to get off the bus I gave him our card and said, "Friend. Everything you just told me are things I have learned from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These are things not learned in college but by experience. Two thumbs up for the city I love Aloha family a me friends,  Do you ever just wonder... Why is the Book of Mormon blue and gold? Why do LDS Church buildings look so modern and not like old Catholic buildings? Why is everyone in NYC so cool and hip?  ...or maybe that was just me this week. Who knows hahaha Anyways. Our Father, "the chief of the universe", is the ultimate person to speak to and answers these questions ("Pure Love: The True Sign of Every True Disciple of Jesus Christ", Elder Massimo De Feo). In perspective, the Earth is so small and human beans are even tinier. We are practically ants lol. Though so small, He knows us and He loves us perfectly . He places people in our lives to remind us that He is there.  Downtown in the concrete jungle God is a funny guy especially when I found out that I actually met my Zone Leader my freshman year at BYU. Or that Sister Dunne and I had to pass off one of our super solid people we teach ...

Aloha Family a me Friends, One of the greatest times of the transfer came around this past week...Zone Conferene! Instead of boring you with all my takeaways I'll just keep it to one. Sister Teuscher spoke simply and powerfully on "Knowing Him".  In life, we often create a deep relationships of trust and love with different people. We basically become obsessed with that person and won't stop talking about them and want EVERYONE to know that person. When we cultivate a godly relationship with our Savior by undertanding His love for us, knowing who He is, and remembering Him...we will trust Him and He will trust us (and we won't shut up about Him because we are obsessed lol).  And if there's anything we should be addicted to, let it be the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you know me...you know I love museums. First of probably many art museums on pdays! Aloha family a me friends,  Not too sure if I've already written about choice in one of my emails. But in the spirit of Independence Day last week, I thought I'd touch on one of God's greatest gifts He has given us: agency or the ability to choose. What a sweet gift.  We live in a country where we have freedom and can choose. We live under a God who allows us to have freedom and can choose. A win win situation all around. Our district leader asked us the other day how we have been finding so much success in just these two weeks and I believe we both credit it to the choices we make. On the 4th of July Sister Dunne and I CHOSE to be spirited and dressed up for the holiday (we also CHOSE to have some fun and one of our daily goals was to get ice cream from Mister Softees, the ice cream truck). But hey whatever gets them hyped! Speaking of which, my new district leader is my good ole friend from the MTC, Elder Tupou! Man has he grown to be a leader. Needless to say, I truly am #hyped (lol) to be here in Harlem! It is a little mix between the Bronx and Manhattan. So much culture, so much crazies, so much continual miracles (and counting). I love it so much and love tracting and finding in the city and I know in my heart that this is where I need to be at this time in my life. How grateful am I to know that God is aware of me and my strengths and weaknesses and that everything happens for a reason.  Small small world! Aloha family a me friends, You probably know its about time to leave the Bronx when ... 1) You can get around without using area book or google maps to figure out which bus to take or which stop to get off at  2) People ask you how long you've been here and you tell them "Since February!" and they tell you "oh youre practically a Bronx child already" 3) You start eating all your chicken to the bone like all the Africans here 4) You become friends with the fruit stand and tamale and meat truck and deli guys 5) You can pretty much successfully deduce which African country people are from and they without a doubt guess youre from China If I had a choice I wouldn't mind serving in the Kingsbridge 2nd Ward in the Bronx for the rest of my mission ha ha. Technology wasnt being my friend last week and for some reason only my pictures went out...oops. So heres my email from last week because I love my two parentals and I know they would want to hear what went down last week :)  Aloha Family a me Friends, This past week President Smith (our mission president) has been placing a huge emphasis on being ALL IN for the Lord and for this work. We must be all in physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally so that on the last day we may stand accountable to the Lord for all of our actions here on Earth. And so that at the end of the night we may each earn that pillow. When the Savior performed the Atonement He was ALL IN for us and for that reason I will be ALL IN for Him.
