Ohana. Isn't it about food?

Royal Naval Dockyard Round 3!

Aloha family a me friends!

Ohana. Isnt it about...food?!
*Wait*
Family. Isn't it about time?

There we go that is what the commercials used to say. Family family family. The more that I have been here in Bermuda, the more I have learned that God never will place us in comfortable situations but He will never leave us alone. He speaks to us in different ways and many times its through the people around us
Just some casual weekly planning hike down
to the beach  across from our house
Word spreads fast on an island but I know word spreads even faster when it's between family. Bermudians. Members and non members. Male and female. Nice ones and angry ones. They are all family. I have witnessed this especially these past couple weeks as I have seen the Bermuda branch come together as three members of our branch had their mothers past away in this past month and many many many members going in and out of the hospital.

In 1 Nephi 2:4 it states (while speaking of Lehi): "And it came to pass that he departed into the wilderness. And he left his house, and the land of his inheritance, and his gold, and his silver, and his precious things, and took nothing with him, save it were his family, and provisions, and tents, and departed into the wilderness"
Lehi left everything. He left everything but his family. His family was and is everything and essentially all he needed.

And I will say, these past couple of weeks have been nothing but amazing. Moreso, the words that have been impressed in my mind is "You have a family here". I love the people on this island. I love their quirks. I love their laughs. I love their faith. I love their willingness to serve. This is where I know I am supposed to be. Yes, not everyone is THIS friendly. But no family is perfect and that is why we have one another.

My companion.

We were never meant to be alone on this earth but we are here that we "might have joy". And truly I know that this joy is through our brothers and sisters in Christ. As we view them as our siblings, we allow God's light and love into our lives. It really is all up to us. Our life, our happiness, our attitude is dependent on our righteous use of agency. So to be or not to be? That is the question.

Cactus fruit (that doesn't taste like anything btw) and the other side of the island (St. Geroges)

Randoms:
1) The Elders Qurom President asked me last minute to conduct the music at his mother's funeral. I was like alright I got this (seeing as I used to conduct music) but then when I realized that there was no pianist and that the music was all unknown Christian songs...it was a whole new story and experience for sure! But I am glad I had the opportunity to serve :)
2) Its been real nice weather lately. We got to weekly plan on the beach again and I got maybe like 1% tanner. Small progress is still progress haha
3) Went out to dockyard and explored the museum (which is why this email is coming out late and so rushed lol my b) and once more watched the captive dolphins swim around. It's "off season" and basically all the restuarant were closed since there are not that many tourists haha
4) The FB Elders did a training with us since we werent at Missionary Leadership Conference and they asked us "how can we remain in better contact with you since you are so far away?" and replied with a laugh saying "you've been in more contact with us than anyone else including our Zone Leaders, Sister Training Leaders and Mission President" haha Bermuda.
5) Happy (early) Valentine's Day ace boys and girls! Thanks for all the love, prayers, and support from around the world. Love y'all choke.

Make good choices and I hope you all have a day as Bermudaful as mines ;)

Me ke aloha,
Sister Ellis
