And lemme tell you. I can testify to what President Tesucher said is true. It was another bomb diggty week for the books. Ending this transfer and week off with three friends on baptismal date, eight souls at church, and two new peeps to teach. And not to mention, eating many many many meals with members. Furthermore...I testify that the key to people's heart (well at least mines) is food. And maybe just maybe we had so many people at church because we had a potluck for Sister Howells and Elder K and because we had a General Authority come speak to us.
But we will give everyone the benefit of the doubt and know that they all came to truly remember our Savior and refocus on Him. Elder David Buckner, a member of the Seventy, visited our Bermuda Branch family and shared the story of when Christ walked on the water. Heres a snippet of it in Matthew 14: 29-32:
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Did you catch that? Peter walked on water.
Did you catch that? When he lost focus, he began to sink.
Did you catch that? Christ was merciful and caught him.

Casually calling people to remind them about church...while chilling on the sand and watching the water. What a life haha |

When we keep not only our eyes but hearts singlely focused on Christ, we will not sink. No nothing will prevail. No doubt, no fear, no inadequacey will creep in when we arefocused on Christ. We will know without a doubt that Christ, alone, is the key to peace and stability. Did the boisterous wind stop when Christ stretched forth his hand? No. It stopped once they returned to the ship. The author left the journey back open ended to our own interpretation. Christ may have carried Peter or He may have walked beside Him. But the key to the story is that they made it, together. The winds stopped only by and with Christ. Christ is the key.
And the cherry on top for our Sunday sacrament (and for this email) was when our sweet counselor in the Branch Presidency sung a song a capella from the bottom of his heart. Belting out this phrase that I pray may stay was us all forever:
"I never stand alone. I stand with Jesus"
Randoms:
1) It seems as though every time we have baptisms, Heavenly Father makes the weather just perfect. It was totally rainy the whole week and then Saturday morning we woke up and the weather was gorgeous and the water wasn't too cold. Congrats to J'Zhai, J'Khai, and Alex!! Work is progressing!! All is well. Happy Day.
2) UPDATE from Harlem! My dear friend Flor entered into the waters of baptism. She has grown in the gospel so much and I am grateful for her and just love her :-)
3) This past weekend I made six ti leave leis. Hopefully the island has enough ti leaves for all the baptisms we got coming up ;)
4) Went to our member's mother's funeral and it was so tender and sweet. Oh how grateful am I for the Plan of Salvation and the peace that it brings to our lives knowing that we WILL see our loved ones again.
5) Saturday night. Our landlord below was having a poppin party. Playing music literally ALL night long. Ranging from "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" to "Three Little Birds". What a night.
6) Ace girl aka Sister Howells is heading out to train for one transfer before she heads home and she'll be opening up the Brooklyn YSA area for Sisters! So stoked for her but not stoked to have to take her to airport at 6am tomorrow haha. These past three months have gone by way too fast!
7) Apparently this is Bermuda Marathon Weekend. We totally were walking down Front Street on Friday night being so confused why there was so many people. We later found out that the whole weekend would be filled with various races around the island. Ah how fun.
