Caves, Lizards, and a Companion Shorter Than I

Sister Pennock and I
Aloha family a me friends!

New transfer. New companion. New year. New me.

Lots of news happening over here and with my year mark coming up this upcoming week (say whaaat?!), I feel like this is more of a New Year type of dealio than January 1 was for me (lol missions are odd k).

I've been out for a year? I've been in Bermuda for three months already? Life is weird. So often as people we can be hard on ourselves. We will often look at what we are not. We want and expect ourselves to run the full marathon, without doing the mile by mile trainings.
I will often see the 10000 and 1 things that I know that I am not. At times, I will admit, I am too hard on myself. More often than not, as humans, we look at what we aren't instead of acknolwedging all that we are.

Nevertheless, we aren't perfect and neither does our Father in Heaven expect perfection today. In fact, perfection is pending. As Jeffrey R. Holland eloquently put it:
" 'Come as you are,' a loving Father says to each of us, but He adds, 'Don’t plan to stay as you are.' We smile and remember that God is determined to make of us more than we thought we could be."

Yes, though I have been out for a year I still feel like I just came out on the mission yesterday. Yes, I have 100 and 1 things to improve. But yes, I have 100 and 1 things that I have become because of our loving Father in Heaven. I have seen His hand in my life every day. I saw the power of the Atonement take place in my life and those that I love. I have seen myself at my lows and I have seen myself at my highs. He has made me more than I thought I could become.
My oh my friends look at how far we have come and look how far we still have to come. In the wise words of my older brother, Forward ever, stopping never. :-)

Last pic with the district. Ft. hoodies from one of the recent converts @the aiport early Tuesday morning!
Bye bye Sister Howells and Elder K

Fishy fishy in the sea wont you come and play with me

Cool cave on pday!

Heres a pic of my companion trying to catch a lizard. It then proceeded to jump on her face.
She was stoked haha.
Randoms:
1) Winter over here = pouring cats and dogs. One minute its clear weather the next we are drenched. Ah.
2) Dropped off Sister Howells at the airport on Tuesday morning at 6:30 am. Off to the big city :')
3) Went knocking. Met someone with a Hawaiian name, "Kaleo". And of course I flipped out haha
4) Went exploring in a cave last Monday. It was pretty cool and even cooler was that it was freeee!! Nature is so cool :)
5) My new companion is Sister Pennock and she is SO spunky and liberal I just love her! She is from Kaysville, Utah and has been out for just about 6 months! Its going to be the greatest next two transfers!  (oh and for once I am taller than my companion haha)
6) Ran into a couple from Utah on the bus! They were so excited and talking so loudly that a few people actually "shushed" us on the bus haha. Not the first time that this has happened to us

Me ke aloha,
Sister Ellis
