Sewn in God's Own Time

Sister Combe, Sister Bandeaux, and I
Aloha family a me friends,

How is it already May already. Time seems to fly faster and faster. Time is weird; it is a man made concept yet controlled by some higher being, God. In the Lord's timing (and not man's) are we able to see miracles, receive blessings, and continue on the path towards eternal life.

Found out Sister Felix has an
extra tooth growing.
- Before I checked into the MTC, my family and I visited Temple Square and spoke to a Sister from Nigeria about what to expect while I am on my mission and all her crazy experiences. Flash forward to three months later. I'm on a bus taking Sister Felix to the dentist in the other side of the Bronx and guess what we realize...SHE'S THE SAME SISTER FROM TEMPLE SQUARE. How wacky that our path's crossed once again.

- The other week we met the cutest woman on the bus but she gave us the wrong address in a project building lol. We knocked on it and met this man who is SO prepared to accept our message! What are the odds?! There really are none haha

-Last night decided to switch up our route home and we took the bus instead of the Subway. There ended up being a FAT delay and we were sitting at the stop for 30 minutes. We started talking to this guy and it turns out Sister Combe gave him a Book of Mormon in December! What are the odds our paths cross again. But wait I'm not done yet. We get on the bus and this older couple is staring at us. So I just say Hi and start talking to them. Turns out they met with Elders four years ago but the wife didn't like how she didnt see any "girl" missionaries so she stopped meeting with them lol. Well now there are "girl" missionaries and we are right in front of you. So crazy amazing.

Sister Combe's first time. PHO REALS
As we remain in tune with spiritual promptings it is amazing to see what God has in store for each of us. We meet people who are meant to be in our lives and people whom we can learn and grow from. With it being "May Day is Lei Day in Hawai'i" yesterday, I've come to see the lei God has been sewing in my life. I've met some amazing, beautiful souls since being out on my mission and each seem to have a place in my life. Like flowers we are all so delicate and different. Yet through God's hand we are able to be sewn into something so beautiful and so long (like a King Kamehameha statute kine lei long). He uses Christ's perfect gospel and love to keep us together and make us into something more wonderful than we could ever imagine. I love my Master and I love the people He has sewn into my life as I strive to follow His will each day.

Randoms:
1) I was teaching a woman from Nigeria and she told me: "Sometimes I forget I'm in America". I just look at her and I'm like "Same". Lol New York is something different I tell ya
2) One of my investigators called us up and was like: "Where's my Hawaiian princess? I want to tell her that after her mission she and her family can have all these flight passes I don't want so they can come visit New York for free". How kind.
3) It took an hour bus ride to get to a dinner appointment on Sunday. There were some many Irish people and Ireland flags I didn't even think I was still in the Bronx.
4) Knocked on a day and met the sweetest Albanian woman who just kept hugging and kissing us. She didn't speak a single English word. 'Twas adorbs.
5) Our 12 year old investigator, Charlie, told me he wants to be baptized so he can serve a mission and help others feel the happiness he feels! Our Mandarin-speaking Sister missionary asked him if he wanted to learn anything in Chinese and he said: "Teach me how to say 'Thank you missionaries for teaching me'". #dead

Me ke aloha,
Sister Ellis
