Ground Yo Self To Find Yo Self

Cotton candy and ice cream what more could one want?!
Aloha Family a me Friends,
Despite a member in the ward telling me that out of all the Burrough's the Bronx is the "armpit", I think the Bronx is the heart of New York and it sure has my heart :) This past week we met a woman who is a holistic healer and a self proclaimed plant. She proceeded to tell us how we need to "ground" ourselves each and every day by going to a park and taking our socks and shoes off and connecting to the earth. By doing so we will become connected to our roots and are able to increase our positive energy.

Some of you may be thinking she's just another crazy lady in the Bronx but hey like I've said before I believe we come in contact with different people in our lives to learn and to grow. So....currently I am "grounding" in Central Park.

Two transfer together down :')
We need to take those 10-15 minutes to remain grounded spiritually. Relax, take off all the different hats you wear throughout the day, and ground yourself to what matters most in life. Ground ourselves to our Maker and allow ourselves to have faith and follow His will for us. It is by the "small and simple things that great things are brought to pass" but it is also by small and simple things that can lead us down onto the wrong path.  If we aren't careful we will sometimes allow ourselves to stray little by little, let the wind take us, and be as a seed floating in the air.

Though we may feel at times that we are too high from the ground, I promise that the Savior's atonement and arms are and will always bring us back and keep us grounded.

As faith is often compared to a little seed, let us plant that seed in good soil and remain grounded. May we rekindle the roots that we have planted. Is it needful for us to be floating aimlessly in this crazy, wacky, confused world? Behold the Lord says unto us nay. For as we do and follow His will he promises to direct our paths.

Jacob 6:5 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I beseech of you in words of soberness that ye would repent, and come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you. And while his arm of mercy is extended towards you in the light of the day, harden not your hearts"

Come unto God and Christ with full purpose in heart and allow him to heal you. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on this planet. I know that it answers the questions of our souls and helps us to know our Father, our Savior, and ourselves so much better than we could on our own or by any other means.

I know that as we ground ourselves to what matters most (family, culture, gospel) we will be filled with more peace and direction.
Loose kine shaka in Central Park :)
