Spiritual Comas...A Choice

Image
Isthara wanted a pineapple for her birthday. We got her one. Aloha Family a me Friends, It's been straight up Miracle Maddness out here all day every day like I don't even know where to start. My favorite part about serving in NYC is how many people there are. Ever bored? Hop on some public transportation and you'll be more than likely to hear a good story.  Yesterday on the train we met a woman who told us she was in a coma for two years. She remembers the day she woke up and the faith that her husband had knowing that she would get up again. Since then her outlook on life has changed and she has been searching for a church to join for a long time. I, however, was still in shock she was in a coma for two years... A vast majority of us have never been in a physical coma. However we often will fall into spiritual comas. We may become desensitized to something or willinging or unwillinging begin to miss something in our lives. Maybe we brought this upon oursel

Here comes the Son dodododooo

Last district pic with Sister Tsifanay before she leaves for Temple Square :) Aloha Family a me Friends!  As digits on the thermometer begin to rise, so do the digits in our contact book. What a nice relationship. More warmth, more people, more energy, more life. All around a good time to be alive! Here comes the Son (of God) to bless your lives even more!  The CUTEST little girl. She fell asleep five minutes into our lesson with her mom  The missionary work in the Kingsbridge area is bumping (almost as loud as the music coming from all the mini vans driving around). More so, I have seen how important it is to be in the right place at the right time WITH the right mind. If we do not open our minds to God's we are surely missing out because  "oh, there is so much more that your Father in Heaven wants you to know" (President Nelson 2018).  May we more fully cultivate envrionments in our lives to not only recieve personal revelation from God but to ACT upo

I like to EAT and get SWOLE

Aloha ko'u 'ohana a me hoaaloha, In my Senior year I was interviewed for our schools newspaper on what I liked to do with someone that I loved and I replied: "We like to eat and get swole". Missions change people but not everything. I still like to eat and get swole (defn of swole: to get stronger).  Eating . With the weather getting warmer outside that means more street vendors! Ice cream, mangoes with lime and hot sauce, and Coco Ice to name a few! Ah oh how food makes life so much better :) and a special thanks to my mom who sent me some mochiko flour! Made a pan of butter mochi, took it to Zone Conference yesterday and it was enjoyed by all even President and Sister Smith (whom both served their missions in Hawaii).  Getting Swole . Yes I am probably physically getting stronger from walking everywhere all day everyday. BUT I have definitely been able to see how spiritually swole/strong I have been able to get over these past months.  In Ethe

So now what?? Look Back At It.

Aloha family a me friends,  A big shoutout to my cousin Zack who just got called to the Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) mission speaking French and reporting to the Ghana MTC! I'm SO stoked for you. Ho'omaika'i Zack!!  Well, what a week. General Conference on the mission sure is exciting. We get to sit down, eat, and listen to our dear Prophet Russel M. Nelson and his apostles speak. What more could we ever want in life haha. Also. This was the first time in my life I listened intently and took notes for each of the talks. #accomplished #missionschangeyou lol So now what? We've just had this super, crazy, awesome, bomb dot com, spiritual Easter Weekend and General Conference. God's given you all this knowledge and now WHAT are you going to do with it. You could just sit down and be like "oh cool another weekend, another Easter, another General Conference". Yeah. That's actually not cool. I urge you to "wake up! and do somethin
