Seasons of La-a-a-A-ove

Aloha family a me friends,
With the change of seasons and my current location, I thought my subject line was pretty appropriate. (Correct me if I'm wrong and the musical, Rent, was totally not based in NYC lol mission brain I can't quite remember things sometimes)
Seasons may start changing but the love remains constant. So much love. Not the gushy mushy kine but the genuine charity kine. The pure love of Christ I should say. The love for my family and the gospel that motivated me to come out on a mission. The infinite love that God has for each of His children. The love I pray to obtain and retain every single day.
Everything is out of love. When I read the Book of Mormon, I get confirmations of God's love. I felt God's love as He showed unto me, yet another divine coincidence, as I ate at the Columbia Dinning Hall and ran into someone I knew from high school (SO crazy). When the rain started and stopped at the exact moments when we had a dinner appointment, was God's love for me. When a family that I had taught two transfers ago but couldn't get in contact with, showed up to church on Sunday is evidence of God's love. When I am able to testify clearly to people in a way that I feel we have been edified together is God's love.
And even when I stopped in the middle of the street to pick up two quarters, that was God's love and I told Sister Lowe: "This my friend, is 16 minutes in the dryer. Blessings" haha. Evidence of God's love is everywhere we look. These tender mercies are there if we just unplug from our devices and replug into the spirit. In which we be able to "speak with boldness, having authority from God; and...fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out all fear" (Moroni 8:16).
They were out of the "Harlem Shake" (Red Velvet Shake) at Harlem Shake so I settled for the salted caramel shake :) |

We're all mortal. We all have fears and weaknesses whether it may be in the moment or in the future. When the guy on the park bench told us that we shouldn't be walking around Harlem because it's not safe, we told him that we have never felt endangered. And I believe this derives from the love we have for God and for our calling as servants of Him. We are promised that this fear will be dispelled with this perfect love that He is willing to give us, if we but just ask.
Randoms:
1) Went to my first institute class with two people we are teaching lol. Probably a little too deep when they start reading in Luke and talking about being "endued wih power from on high". If it was deep for us, it was most definitely just going over the heads of the people we brought lol.
2) Forgot to say this but the other week we were on a bus. Then a car backed into the bus by accident. Not quite too sure what happened. We were safe haha. We just got off and kept walking to our appointment. All is well. All is swell.
3) Sister Lowe and I figured out what makes us uncomfortable: when guys we teach would try give us hugs. Bahah. Probably the funniest and most awkward thing ever. They try give us a hug (since its natural to do so) and then we both like stick out our hands like yep heres a handshake. Never gets old.
4) Columbia's dinning hall is apparently ranked second in the nation and yes it is pretty fancy shmancy I must say. But met some pretty cool and smart people there! Especially the 15 year old member who took us to eat with her there haha
5) Yesterday we spent 12 straight hours at church. Meetings on meetings on meetings. Hahah
6) For the past couple of months we have been texting someone named "Reggie". We got the number from some Elders in Queens who told us that Reggie was a girl. Reggie texts us: "I'm here at the church". I walk out and see no girl and am like "Sister Lowe she's not here! She lied to us!" Then all of a sudden this guy comes up, "Hey! I'm Reggie!". Hahaha yep.
99% of the records I did not recognize...lol. I'm so uncultured sometimes. |
We went to a fish market for fun today. Mirror selifes! |
