Seasons of La-a-a-A-ove

Comp Unity because we were talking about unity in District Council lol.  Can't get better than this right? Aloha family a me friends,  With the change of seasons and my current location, I thought my subject line was pretty appropriate. (Correct me if I'm wrong and the musical, Rent, was totally not based in NYC lol mission brain I can't quite remember things sometimes)  Seasons may start changing but the love remains constant. So much love. Not the gushy mushy kine but the genuine charity kine. The pure love of Christ I should say. The love for my family and the gospel that motivated me to come out on a mission. The infinite love that God has for each of His children. The love I pray to obtain and retain every single day.  Everything is out of love. When I read the Book of Mormon, I get confirmations of God's love. I felt God's love as He showed unto me, yet another divine coincidence, as I ate at the Columbia Dinning Hall and ran into so

Glasses x4  Aloha Family a me Friends, As humans, as people, as party people...I'm pretty sure we use every single moment and reason to celebrate (and with food). End of the transfer? Let's celebrate with shakes from Harlem Shake. Meeting with a guy for a lesson for the first time? Yeah, he offered to order a pizza. And apparently yesterday was African Day because all of Malcom X Blvd (the avenue the church is on) was blocked off yesterday to celebrate and have a parade. And of course, there was food and boy did it smell good. But I decided to keep the Sabbath Day Holy and didn't buy anything :)  Last District Pic! Fun Fact: Half the district are converts to the church As Latter Day Saints...no difference hahaha. In fact, the people Sister Lowe and I are teaching probably think that all we do is have free food. From the NYNY YSA Stake Institute Kick-Off Party  on Saturday  that had a full on dinner to a waffle bar after church yesterday to going to a ba

Aloha family a me friends, About a year ago in my human anatomy class, I learned that scent is one of the strongest senses to trigger memories. But lately I think for myself, songs are what trigger my memories the best. For instance. Every time I hear "Be Still My Soul" I will always think of my first devotional in the MTC when I checked in. And every time I hear "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul" I will always think of my last devotional in the MTC. Weird. But also really cool.  Since being out, my love for gospel music, especially instrumental music, has increased. There is some kind of power that comes from listening to music that invites the spirit into my life.  Out of the many forces in the world, I believe music has a huge power to influence. Thus we  "must watch and pray always, lest ye be tempted by the devil, and ye be led away captive by him"  (3 Nephi  18:15 ). Sorry to be so blunt and escalte to temptation real quick. But. I like b

Blurry pic of Grand Central station as a representation of how fast everyone moves  Aloha Family a me Friends, I. Love. The. Book. Of. Mormon.  Basically to the point when we are sitting in  Sunday  School and have to introduce ourselves and say our favorite author/book...I legit have no other answer than the Book of Mormon. Hahah. Then again I was never the biggest reader to begin with sooo...anyways it's a great book. Read it, live it, love it. It is either true or its not. Black or white.  Yes or no. It's from God or it's not. You read, you ask, you find.  Last week the Union Square Sisters ran into a member who just moved here from Utah in May and she lives in our area. We go up and see her and she hasn't been to church or said her prayers in awhile. She left to NYC just five days after she graduated high school taking a backpack and a carry on. Crazy right?. After much talking, we gave her a Book of Mormon. The moment she got it, she start
